In unit 3 – International Trade, we learned to do business and have our own trading fair. Actually, it was quite a hard task because we had to invest on our own, buy the materials and make them ourselves. By that, we were able to cooperate with each other well and eventually come out with creatively brilliant ideas to make and sell.
During ICT lessons, we made the flyers describing our stall and about our products. We also made our own logo and company profile. It was fun and new for us since we had to shop for materials and make them ourselves. It felt like we were actually starting a business together with friends. Most of us had quite profitable results and we were very happy! We hope to do more activities like this.

Last December, we had a big project called “Trading Fair”. On that day, we sold handmade products like puffy pillows, decorative bookmarks, picture frames, and clay key chains. We learned to make things, package them, decide the price and sell them by ourselves. It was like a real business company and we also have different responsibilities like being the president, vice president, handling marketing and finance. We are lucky to have projects like this because it is very useful for us. We already know the basic steps to count the cost and profits. While we are selling, we were not alone: the Year 4 students were also selling items for their project called “Market Day”. As there were many parents and students buying, we were able to earn lots of profits.
We are really happy because every single moment that we spent in this project was not useless. We earned a lot of money, lots of lessons and comments so we can be better. For me, this project is amazing. We were taught to be responsible, resourceful, and confident to make our stall neat and sell successfully. Perfect quality of things is very important for me because low quality is not good for selling. Every students and teachers worked cooperatively and happily help each other. This project is really good because it inspires to use our creativity and abilities as a group. We really appreciate all the teachers and the students who worked really hard on this project.
