SCHOOL PROFILE

Sekolah Tunas Muda, established in 1994, is a National-Plus School located in the residential area of Taman Kedoya Baru, West Jakarta (Kedoya School). The school provides a caring and stimulating environment for students to experience an education that meets international standards. The student population almost 700 students consists of local and expatriate children.

In July 2005, Sekolah Tunas Muda opened the Meruya School, catering for children from 1 to 18 years old. Sekolah Tunas Muda is a bilingual school, with English and Indonesian as the languages of instruction. Mandarin is also offered as a foreign language.

Sekolah Tunas Muda implements the three programmes of international education from the International Baccalaureate Organization. These are the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP). The IBO programmes are recognized by prestigious schools and universities worldwide. Sekolah Tunas Muda retains its identity as a national school by carefully integrating the national curriculum within the framework of the IBO programmes.

Sekolah Tunas Muda provides a broad and balanced curriculum and focuses on educating the whole person, helping students grow intellectually, socially, aesthetically, and culturally.

The school’s professional and dedicated staff, both local and expatriate, know each child by name. The school also promotes community involvement so that students grow socially and emotionally, as well as academically.

Sekolah Tunas Muda currently offers classes from Toddlers (for students aged 1) to Year 10 (SMA 1). Classes will be offered to SMA 2 (2006-2007) and SMA 3 (2007-2008). Its caring and stimulating learning environment is fitted with excellent facilities, including air-conditioned classrooms, a well-sourced library, a modern computer lab, a well-equipped science lab, a sports field and playgrounds, as well as an auditorium and a multi-purpose hall.
