JAKARTA SCHOOLS FOOTBALL LEAGUE
This year TMIS has joined the Jakarta Schools Football League, which is a school representative league bringing together various diverse communities in Jakarta including International Schools, Local Schools, National Plus Schools and very importantly, teams from the dis-advantaged communities in Jakarta including orphanages and local under privileged kampung based teams. The ethos of the league is fair play and sportsmanship and all participating teams and players are required to sign a firm commitment of respect for others at all times. All teams are involved in both the Coca Cola League and the Greenfields Challenge Cup.
Our Under 10s team, comprising of children from both Kedoya and Meruya schools, has played 5 matches so far and we have won all 5 matches! We also played 2 matches in the Greenfields Cup and were very sad to lose our second match by one penalty, which meant that we were knocked out of the Cup. The players, under the guidance of Pak Mus, are enjoying playing against other schools and are demonstration not only great soccer skills but also many the values that we aim to nurture in all our students, including cooperation, communication, determination, enthusiasm and respect.
A special part of the Tunas Muda team is our supporters! Every week a group of mums, dads, brothers and sisters come to the matches and support our team (very loudly!!). We wish our team the best of luck in their final 2 league matches! Go Go Go Tunas Muda!
