SCIENCE FAIR

The Year 5 students at Kedoya held a big event this semester, the Science Fair! The students worked in pairs and they conducted different experiments about changing states of matter. Before for Fair day, the students searched for their own experiments and tested them in the class. They came up with their hypothesis first and then observed what happened. Some of the groups’ experiments failed at first but they kept on testing the experiments and found out the problems until they succeeded and could make a conclusion.
We invited the school staff, students from other levels, parents and visitors from other schools to visit our Science Fair. The students were very proud presenting their experiments. They learned how to be confident and cooperated well with their partner. This event really built their thinking and communication skills. What an excellent job!

Comments from students :
I like this project because it is fun and enjoyable. I felt happy and relieved after the Science Fair and I think that I did a great job. Conducting an experiment in front of parents was a new challenge and it was very exciting experience. This event gave more knowledge and was very educational. I can learn more about the changing states of matter. I think the Science Fair was an amazing event in Year 5! - (Iris, 5I) The Science Fair was awesome and spectacular! It was such an exciting moment in Year 5 and it’s building our knowledge about changing states of matter. Parents, teachers and students came to our booth and asked a few questions about our experiments. It was tiring work but it was a fun experience. We learned how to work in a team, accepted our or others’ strengths, weaknesses and differences. We were supported by our teachers to not give up and to try our best in everything. Thank you teachers! - (Andrea, 5F)
