Earth Day

During Earth Day on March 22, 2010, Tunas Muda International School Kedoya members did some action in order to help save the earth.
The nursery and kindergarten children planted, fertilized and watered the plants in the school area. The lower primary students, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3, made posters about things that we can do to save the earth, using old newspapers and scrap paper and after that they ran a campaign to Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students to share their knowledge. Our upper primary students worked in our local area. Year 4 students cleaned the school area by separating the plastic and paper rubbish. Year 5 and Year 6 took care the environment by collecting dry rubbish as plastic, paper or dry leaves from the area between school and Superindo.

(Kenanekaragaman Hayati), the Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation, which works in the area of biodiversity conservation and biological resource management, delivered an interesting presentation about some of the things that are happening to the earth and what small actions we can do to save the earth.
Our old newspapers collection was very successful!! We sold all the papers for Rp 170,000 which we will use as a donation to join Yayasan KEHATI’s “My School My Tree” campaign and to buy some new plants or flowers to be put in the school area.

All of the students and teachers really enjoyed taking this action as we all vote to help protect the earth for a better life.
It has started with us. Let’s all save the earth!
